I’ve been playing and composing music for most of my life, but I feel as if I’m just beginning to find my voice these days. I enjoy writing music for motion pictures or commercials. Some of my music can be found below or on my SoundCloud. I have composed tracks for minor film projects and recently scored the soundtrack for the premiere video of the production company 1001FILMS.
Over the years, I have encountered and worked within many genres of music. However, the core characteristics of my sound always feature dramatic soundscapes with a penchant for epic climaxes, extensive crescendos and post-rock influences.
I usually include my passion for music in programming projects. Connecting the best of both worlds, I utilise problem solving and audiovisual media to implement products. An excerpt of my work can be found below or on my GitHub page.
The BlissBox, which was inspired by the Dispatch Master by Earthquaker Devices, combines classic guitar effects, such as chorus, delay and reverb, into a blissful guitar pedal VST plugin. For a detailed description, the .vst3 file and the source code, one can visit the project here.
A simple synthesizer, which allows the user to play notes via the keyboard or mouse. A handful of parameters can be used to shape the sound. The current version features simple FM synthesis. Try out the WebSynth demo here. The source code can be found here.
I believe Music and Computer Science are particularly fascinating if enjoyed in a visual form. By abstracting and visualizing complex problems, one can often paint clear pictures and reach a better understanding. While learning the application of Perlin noise, I have created several sketches in Processing. Explore the project here!
I have recently written a magazine about the history of Post-Rock music and individual bands that I love. A sample can be read and downloaded here. Created for the magazine, the following two playlists are a fantastic introduction to the Post-Rock genre. Each playlist contains a collection of 100 songs that are carefully selected and arranged. Listen to "The Beauty of Post-Rock" and "The History of Post-Rock" on Spotify!
